M·A·C Cosmetics x SPelman Colege
Spelman College Cosmetic Chemistry & ElevateHer Summit
In partnership with Spelman College, M·A·C Cosmetics, and Estée Lauder Companies
The Opportunity
Spelman College announced the expansion of its STEM programming to include a cosmetic chemistry concentration — the first of its kind at an HBCU. In alignment with Estée Lauder Companies’ commitment to developing future leaders in science and beauty, MAC and ELC activated on campus during the ElevateHer Summit to connect students with career pathways in cosmetic science, and offered a makeup demo to help students prepare for professional settings and photographs .
My Role
Photographed the campus activation and programming, as well as captured professional portraits of select students. Produced branded materials, and created promotional and social assets supporting internship recruitment and STEM engagement initiatives.
Creative Approach
The creative balanced institutional credibility with brand energy. Visual storytelling highlighted:
• The next generation of Black women in STEM
• Branded activations + makeup demo
• Student engagement and career exploration
• The intersection of science, beauty, and opportunity
The goal was to feel aspirational, future-focused, and culturally grounded, ensuring both MAC and Estée Lauder Companies showed up with intention and authenticity on campus.
Impact
• Elevated visibility of cosmetic science pathways for Black women in STEM
• Strengthened brand relationships with Spelman College
• Supported internship recruitment through experiential engagement
• Reinforced corporate investment in long-term diversity and leadership development
